Effect of Bi Nanoprecipitates on the Thermoelectric Properties of Bi‐Sb‐Te/Sb ₂ O ₃ Nanocomposites

BiSbTe-based nanocomposites hybridized with ceramic nanoparticles have recently revealed their higher efficiency as thermoelectric materials for near room-temperature applications, compared to the traditional BiTe-SbTe alloys. Herein, incorporation of ultra-small Bi nanoprecipitates into microstructure a Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3/Sb2O3 nanocomposite and consequential effects on thermal electrical transport properties this three-phase hybrid system is reported. Electron microscopy characterization systematic analysis Bi0.5Sb1.5Te3/Sb2O3/Bi nanoprecipitate samples suggest that minute increase charge carrier concentration nanocomposites, act effective scattering sites throughout microstructure, shift maximum Seebeck coefficient values temperatures.
